Inburgering A2 Writing Template Pack (Formal + Informal)
A practical set of A2 writing templates for common inburgering prompts.
Templates give you a reliable structure so you can focus on content instead of worrying about format. Below are four templates, each with a blank structure and a filled example. Study the structure, then practice filling in your own details.
1. Formal Email Template
Use this for complaints, requests, or official communication.

Met vriendelijke groet,
[Your name]

Beste meneer/mevrouw,
Ik schrijf u omdat de wasmachine in mijn appartement kapot is.
Sinds vorige week maandag werkt de machine niet meer.

Kunt u zo snel mogelijk een monteur sturen?
Alvast bedankt.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Sara Jansen

Hoe gaat het?
Ik word volgende week zaterdag 30 jaar en ik geef een feestje.
Het begint om 19:00 uur bij mij thuis.

Groetjes,
Sara

How to Adapt Templates
Templates are starting points, not fixed texts. Follow these tips to adapt them to any prompt:
- Read the prompt carefully. Identify who you are writing to (formal or informal), what you need to say, and whether you need to ask something.
- Replace the bracketed sections with specific details from the prompt. Never leave generic placeholders in your final answer.
- Add one or two linking words like want, maar, or daarom to connect your sentences naturally.
- Match the tone to the audience. Use u and Kunt u for formal writing. Use je and Kun je for informal writing.
- Keep sentences short. At A2 level, two short sentences are better than one long, complicated sentence.
Examiner’s Checklist
When the exam is graded, the examiner checks for these points:
- Task completion. Did you answer all parts of the prompt? If it asks three questions, you must address all three.
- Appropriate tone. Formal prompts require formal language. Informal prompts require informal language. Mixing them loses points.
- Clear structure. Your message should have a greeting, a body, and a closing. Each part should be easy to identify.
- Correct basic grammar. At A2 level, perfection is not expected, but subject-verb agreement and basic word order should be correct.
- Relevant vocabulary. Use words that fit the situation. A complaint about a washing machine should include words like kapot, repareren, and monteur.
