Refunds & your right to change your mind

Herroepingsrecht

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This page explains three things: our pass guarantee, the 14-day right that EU law gives you, and how we handle refunds in practice.

The pass guarantee

We built this app so you pass. So the promise is simple: if you sit an official exam part and don't pass it, you get the full amount you paid us back.

The conditions, all of them:

  • You bought full access on or after July 18, 2026 (the day this guarantee started).
  • You sat the exam part after your purchase and within 6 months of it. Any official part counts — inburgering (A2), Staatsexamen NT2 (B1), or the naturalisation exam.
  • You claim within 60 days of receiving your result, by emailing admin@inburgering.coach with your official result (the uitslag from DUO / Mijn Inburgering) showing the failed part.
  • One guarantee claim per account. After the refund, your account returns to the free plan.

The refund is everything you've paid us for the subscription (or the full price, if you bought one-time access before we moved to subscriptions). If you bought on our website, it goes back to your original payment method via Mollie. If you bought through the App Store, Apple doesn't let us push refunds — so we ask for your IBAN and send you a normal bank transfer instead. Either way, expect the money within a few business days of your claim being approved.

No fine print beyond the list above: we don't require a minimum number of exercises, and we won't argue with an official result.

Cancelling your subscription

Premium is a monthly subscription of €14.99 that starts with a 7-day free trial. You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason and without a cancellation fee.

  • Cancel during the trial and you are never charged anything.
  • Cancel later and the next payment stops. You keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for.
  • On our website, cancel from your account settings. On iPhone, cancel in Apple's subscription settings — Apple manages those. Or just email us and we'll do it.

The 14-day right of withdrawal (herroepingsrecht)

Under EU consumer law, when you buy something online you normally get 14 days to change your mind and get your money back — no reason needed. This is called the right of withdrawal (herroepingsrecht).

We don't ask you to waive it, and we don't make you tick a box giving it up. You keep it.

We go further than the law requires, because arguing about part-months is not a good use of anyone's afternoon: if you ask within 14 days of your first monthly payment, we refund that payment in full — no reason needed, no questions. Between the free trial and this, you can try the whole thing and get every cent back.

And beyond that, we refund fairly

Outside the trial and the 14-day window above, refunds are our decision rather than an automatic legal entitlement. Our decision is simple and generous:

  • Charged but access never unlocked? Full refund, always. That's our mistake, not yours. Email us and we'll refund you or fix your access — your choice.
  • Charged twice, or the wrong amount? Full refund of the extra charge, always. (If our system spots a duplicate payment it usually refunds it automatically.)
  • The product genuinely isn't what you expected and you've barely used it? Email us within a reasonable time and tell us what went wrong. We'd rather refund a disappointed learner than keep money from someone who won't use the course.

We don't do refunds for people who've worked through most of the course and then ask for their money back — that's fair to everyone.

How to ask for a refund

Email admin@inburgering.coach from the address on your account, or with the email you used, and tell us:

  • the date of the purchase, and
  • what went wrong.

We answer support ourselves, usually within a day. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method (iDEAL or card) via Mollie, normally within a few business days.

Your legal rights

None of this removes any right Dutch or EU consumer law gives you. If a refund is legally required, you get it — the fair-handling above is on top of your legal rights, never instead of them.
